Amnesty slams US, UK human rights attitudes

Amnesty International has accused Britain and the United States of using last year’s attacks on the US to 'ride roughshod' over human rights.

The organisation said emergency legislation introduced following the atrocities in New York and Washington was an attack on the pillars of human rights such as the Geneva Convention, the rights of refugees and the right to a fair trial.
