3,000 villagers prepare to evacuate volcano-hit island
Around 3,000 villagers are preparing to evacuate an island in northern Papua New Guinea after a volcanic eruption rained ash on their homes over the weekend.
The Manam volcano on Manam Island began spewing ash and lava on Sunday, damaging crops but causing no injuries.
Officials have received indications that the volcano will erupt again and villagers are now preparing boats in case it forces a complete evacuation.
