Four people were shot and killed and nine others were wounded inside a Nevada casino today, a local radio reported. Police would not immediately confirm the report.
KGMN-FM in Kingman, Arizona, said the shooting happened on the first floor of Harrah’s Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, during the 20th annual River Run, a large gathering of motorcycle clubs that brings up to 50,000 people into the gambling resort.
Harrah’s director of marketing, Laura De La Cruz, said an altercation between rival motorcycle gang members erupted shortly after 2am. She would not give any other details, referring questions to police.
About 100 people have been taken into custody and bridges over the Colorado River have been shut to traffic, KGMN-FM reported.
Police dispatchers would only confirm a motorcycle gang was involved.
At Western Arizona Regional Medical Centre in nearby Bullhead City, Arizona, nine men patients, some with gunshot wounds, some with knife stab wounds, were being treated, said hospital spokeswoman Ruth Padilla.
Three men in a critical condition with gunshot wounds were flown to University Medical Centre in Las Vegas, she said.
Laughlin is located 80 miles southeast of Las Vegas, near the Arizona border.
