FBI warns of possible attack on US supermarkets
The FBI has warned its agents about unconfirmed information that al Qaida may be planning to attack supermarkets or shopping centres in the United States.
The warning was sent to all FBI field offices and relayed to some state and local police. However, officials cautioned that the information was unsubstantiated and did not include specific details of targets, timing and method of attack.
The information apparently came from Abu Zubaydah, a senior al Qaida commander who was arrested in Pakistan earlier this month.
