Workers at the remains of the World Trade Centre were today rushing to shore up a 90-foot hole in the retaining wall which prevents the site flooding.

The massive gash is the biggest yet found in the ‘‘bathtub’’, the concrete structure that underpinned the twin towers before they collapsed in the September 11 terror attacks which killed more that 2,800 people.
