Air travellers are facing long delays at two of Australia's busiest airports after air traffic controllers announced plans to strike.

Sydney air traffic controllers will walk off the job for five hours from mid-morning on Thursday. Their Brisbane colleagues will strike for seven hours to protest at stalled salary talks.
