Bad weather hampering US offensive in Afghanistan

Sandstorms and high winds are currently threatening to disrupt the US military’s offensive against an unknown number of al-Qaida and Taliban fighters in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan.

The adverse weather conditions have grounded helicopters and a number of supply flights were delayed or cancelled overnight.
