Philippine earthquake toll now at 10

The death toll from a powerful earthquake in the southern Philippines rose to 10 today.

Officials said an additional 17 people were injured by falling debris, collapsing walls and mudslides after the 6.8-magnitude quake hit the southern island of Mindanao before dawn yesterday.
