Malaysia’s central bank is investigating a report that claims Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe secretly transferred £10m (€16m) to the south East Asian country.

Bank Negara officials said today that they were attempting to verify any aspect of the Sunday Telegraph’s report that the sum was allegedly sent through banks in the Channel Islands and ended up in Malaysia.
