US warplanes attack suspected al-Qaida base

US warplanes have attacked a suspected al-Qaida base in Eastern Afghanistan with ground support from Afghan troops.

The bombers targeted hundreds of suspected al-Qaida and Taliban fighters in mountains in the Paktia province.
