Commonwealth ministers meet about Zimbabwe violence
Just days before elections in Zimbabwe, Commonwealth ministers were meeting today to discuss imposing sanctions on Harare over violence and intimidation by supporters of President Robert Mugabe.
Leaving for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Coolum, eastern Australia, Tony Blair’s spokesman said the British Prime Minister would be pushing for Zimbabwe’s expulsion from the Commonwealth, but added that he was not optimistic of success.
