Saddam challenges Blair to find weapons sites

Saddam Hussein today challenged British Prime Minister Tony Blair to prove Iraq is developing weapons of mass destruction, his spokesman saying it was ready to receive ‘‘right now’’ any British team in the country.

‘‘Iraq is ready to receive right now any British team sent by Blair and accompanied by the British media to show the world where and how is Iraq developing such weapons,’’ a spokesman for the Iraqi leadership said in the official al-Thawra newspaper.
