Pregnant woman shot at Israeli checkpoint

Israeli troops today shot a pregnant Palestinian woman in labour and killed her husband as the couple tried to reach a hospital, just a day after another pregnant woman was shot at the same roadblock.

Maysoun Hayek and her husband, Mohammed Hayek, both 22, knew about the shooting yesterday in which a pregnant woman was hit in the chest at the checkpoint in Nablus. That woman, Shadia Shehade, was wounded but gave birth to a healthy girl several hours later.
