Reports suggest al-Qaida links to Daniel Pearl murder
Police in Pakistan are currently seeking three Arab men who are believed to have played a role in the kidnap and execution of US reporter Daniel Pearl.
Reports suggest the men may have links to Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network.
Investigators have already said that four Pakistanis arrested in connection with the killing had strong links to the Taliban and possibly al-Qaida.
In addition, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, the British-born militant who police believe masterminded the abduction, at one point told his interrogators that his people wanted to teach the United States a lesson and that Pearl’s murder was just a first step.
