WTC memorial 'may have 3,000-name inscription'
Reports say a memorial for the World Trade Centre victims may include a glass structure inscribed with all their names.
They say a glass box or a dome may be placed over Fritz Koenig's Sphere - a massive bronze artwork recovered from Ground Zero.
The report says officials hope to have a memorial plan organised by March 11, the six-month anniversary of the attacks.
Officials want to make sure the victims' families agree with the plans.
Lower Manhattan Development Corporation spokesman Matthew Higgins says the group wants to discuss the plans with victims' families before talking publicly about them.
"Any gesture that's going to memorialise my brother, and the people that were lost, is fine with me," said Michael Cartier of the families' group, Give Your Voice.
Sources told the paper the favourite location for the memorial is a small park known as 'Teardrop park' on Murray Street in Battery Park City.
