Murdered boy: Police study CCTV clue

Police hunting the killer of a boy in London are looking at CCTV footage of a man rushing away from a service station.

The man in his 50s was seen buying a petrol can near the park where the youngster's body was found.

The body of the boy, aged between 12 and 16, was found burnt beyond recognition in Roe Green Park, Kingsbury on Tuesday.

The victim had been stripped and beaten.

Mohammed Samsudeen, 35, who works at the Total filling station less than half a mile from the scene, said the man came into the garage the day before and was behaving oddly.

He said: "He came in and went straight for the petrol can, he didn't ask how much it was or anything.

"Then he went outside and filled it up with five litres, came back in and paid.

"He didn't say anything to me and he seemed in a hurry, not happy about something."

Police, who are examining a number of lines of inquiry, have taken CCTV footage to look at, he added.
