The European Union has decided to introduce sanctions against Zimbabwe after President Robert Mugabe expelled the chief EU observer dispatched to monitor the country’s upcoming presidential election.

The European Union has decided to introduce sanctions against Zimbabwe after President Robert Mugabe expelled the chief EU observer dispatched to monitor the country’s upcoming presidential election.

The sanctions are believed to include a ban on the sale of military goods to Zimbabwe, the freezing of bank accounts belonging to senior members of Mr Mugabe’s regime and a travel ban on all senior government officials.
