US prepared to fight alone against terrorism

A NATO international security conference in Germany has heard America’s top priority is self-defence.

Leading security advisor for President Bush, Richard Pearle told the conference that America will choose its own defence above that of ‘friends’ or ‘allies’, adding that the USA has "never been more willing to act alone".
