Graveyard search for reporter ends

Police in the Pakistani city of Karachi searching for the abducted American reporter Daniel Pearl have completed a search of graveyards.

The search was sparked after e-mails sent to news organisations in the US claimed the Wall Street Journal reporter had been executed and his body dumped.

A number of extremist groups have said they kidnapped Pearl and a number of demands have been made, including one for a $2M ransom and one demanding better conditions for Afghan prisoners in Cuba.
