Student denies introducing Harry to cannabis

A 19-year-old student has denied introducing Prince Harry to cannabis smoking.

Guy Pelly is studying at the Royal Agricultural College near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

He said that it had nothing to do with him, and that he didn't know what they were on about.

The British Queen has backed Prince Charles's response to Harry's cannabis smoking and under-age drinking.

As police spokesman has refused to rule out taking action against the 17-year-old royal, with Buckingham Palace saying the monarch supported the way Charles had handled the episode.

A palace statement said: "The Queen shares the Prince of Wales's views on the seriousness of Prince Harry's behaviour and supports the action which has been taken. She hopes the matter can now be considered as closed."

The British Home Secretary has also backed the way Prince Charles handled the situation.

Taking part in an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a drugs project in Westminster, David Blunkett said it had been an extremely difficult situation. He added it was very difficult for young people to inform on friends dabbling with drugs and drink.

Asked if he supported Charles, he said: "I sympathise and commiserate with him and the family.

"As a father of three sons, I would indicate that he handled himself and the needs of his son very well indeed."
