Israeli bulldozers demolish five Palestinian homes
Bulldozers supported by hundreds of Israeli troops today flattened five newly-built Palestinian houses in east Jerusalem.
Israeli police scuffled with dozens of residents as more than a dozen bulldozers moved into the area.
Residents said that 15 homeowners had received notices that their property would be demolished.
City Council members from the Meretz party petitioned a local court today in an effort to prevent the demolitions.
