US warplanes continue to bomb tunnels

US warplanes kept up heavy bombing raids on terrorist hideouts in eastern Afghanistan today.

Aerial attacks took place against a deep complex of tunnels at Zawar in the rugged hills of Paktia province, near the Pakistani border.

US forces are also operating in the area, the last main battleground in Afghanistan. Afghans living in the area were fleeing and said civilians had been killed and wounded by falling bombs.
