Europe tops asylum applications

A new report on asylum applications shows that Europe received three quarters of all applications over the past 20 years.

The study, carried out by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, shows that some 8.4 million people sought asylum in 37 of the world's leading industrialised countries.
