Ex-Greenpeace chief moves to PR
Former Greenpeace chief Lord Melchett who once led the group’s campaign against genetically modified crops is to work for a public relations firm which numbers GM company Monsanto among its clients.
The hereditary Labour peer who was axed from the House of Lords under the Government’s reforms is to join Burson-Marsteller as a consultant.
The firm is one of the world’s leading public relations companies and Lord Melchett is expected to head a committee advising businesses on how to deal with controversial issues such as GM food, toxic waste and child labour in the Third World.
