Japanese leprosy patients receive quarter of million in settlement

The Japanese government reached a settlement today with three former leprosy patients who were banished for decades under a draconian law.

The government agreed to pay nearly quarter of a million pounds to three former patients after the court declared that the government had violated human rights.
