Flight recorders from the Swiss airliner that crashed on approach to Zurich airport, killing 24 people, showed the pilots were in the process of aborting their landing attempt to make a new approach, investigators said today.

Nine people survived the crash of flight LX3597 last Saturday evening. The Jumbolino Avro RJ-100 from Berlin to Zurich came down in woodland just short of the runway.
