Armed siege ends peacefully in Bristol
A man and a woman were arrested following a 22-hour armed siege at a flat.
The tense stand-off began when an armed 23-year-old man barricaded himself into his seventh floor flat in Bristol with an 18-year-old woman and refused to leave.
Avon and Somerset Police say the man had not taken the woman hostage.
He initially refused to speak to police officers, but negotiators were called and they eventually persuaded both him and the woman to leave the property peacefully.
They are now being questioned at Trinity Road police station in Bristol.
A section of the high-rise block of flats had to be evacuated during the incident and several armed police officers were deployed to secure the scene.
