A rapist in England who confessed when police tracked him down almost 35 years after the attack has been jailed for nearly five years.

Six people were gunned down in a spate of shootings across the south of the UK within the same hour earlier today, police said.

A man and a woman were arrested following a 22-hour armed siege at a flat.
