Schroder survives vote of no confidence

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has survived a vote of no confidence in the country’s parliament.

Three hundred and thirty six MPs voted in favour of Schroeder and 326 against.

The vote was called to determine whether the parliament should support Schroeder’s intentions to send soldiers to Afghanistan to help the US in its so-called "war against terrorism".
