Israel kills Palestinian in Gaza Strip invasion

The Israeli army has killed a 23-year-old Palestinian and injured 13 others during a raid on a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip this morning.

Israeli tanks, armoured cars and bulldozers invaded Khan Younis this morning and destroyed two homes, according to Abdel Razek Majaida, the head of the Palestinian security forces.

He said the incursion triggered a gun battle which left one man dead.

Israel said the attack was retaliation for persistent Palestinian gun attacks on Israelis.
