Israeli troops kill terror suspect
Israeli troops have entered a Palestinian village in the West Bank and shot dead a Hamas member suspected of killing two Jewish settlers.
Witnesses say the soldiers, backed by tanks, entered Tel, near Nablus, and shot Muhammed Reihan.
He was on Israel's wanted list for the 1998 killing of two residents of the nearby settlement of Yitzhar,
Some neighbours say Reihan was shot while trying to escape but others say he was killed when he opened fire on the troops.
Large numbers of villagers were later taken to the village school, apparently for identity checks.
The army said the soldiers were arresting "elements involved in terrorist activity".
The Israeli attack comes one day after an Israeli civilian was shot dead by a Palestinian militant at a village in central Israel and a Palestinian was killed in Bethlehem while preparing a bomb.
