Florida Keys evacuated as hurricane heads for US

Authorities in the United States have evacuated the Florida Keys after meteorologists warned of the impending arrival of Hurricane Michelle.

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Centre in Miami predicted winds of more than 75mph and issued a warning to all residents of the Florida Keys.

Yesterday, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, brother of the President, declared a state of emergency because of the hurricane warning.
