US says al Qaida has ordered new attacks

US authorities suspect Osama bin Laden’s al Qaida network may have issued orders for further attacks on the United States.

An anonymous official said the alert issued by Attorney General John Ashcroft yesterday was based on intelligence passed on by Canadian spies.

The information suggests one of al Qaida’s members recently called for new attacks on America.
