The insurance industry looks set to prosper despite the massive losses it suffered as a result of September’s terrorist attacks, a credit rating agency said today.

Standard & Poor’s said that despite the record losses faced by insurers, the global industry remained on a solid footing and was even proving a magnet for new investment.
