Hospital hostage taker threatens grenade attack

A man armed with two grenades burst into a children’s clinic in restive southern Russia today and seized 18 hostages, police said.

He released the hostages after about 90 minutes but remained inside and threatened to throw the grenade into a neighbouring nine storey apartment building, said a spokesman for the regional police in Vladikavkaz near breakaway Chechnya.
