More evidence of chemical attack plans

US Attorney General John Ashcroft has said that people with possible links to the hijackers who carried out the attacks in New York and Washington earlier this month obtained licences to transport hazardous materials.

At least two people arrested in connection with the attacks had licences to transport chemicals and other hazardous materials.

One of the hijackers, Mohammad Atta, also tried to borrow money to buy a crop-dusting aircraft.

These revelations come after the World Health Organisation urged the West to be vigilant against possible chemical or biological attacks.
