UN warns of humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan

The United Nations has warned that a humanitarian crisis of "stunning proportions" is unfolding in Afghanistan because of the threat of US air strikes.

The UN said the numbers in need of aid in the war and drought-ravaged country will increase to over seven million as Afghanistan becomes increasingly isolated.
