Bin Laden was shy and polite, says teacher

A British schoolmaster who taught Osama bin Laden in Saudi Arabia said today that he was a ‘‘very shy’’ and ‘‘extraordinarily polite’’ pupil.

Retired teacher Brian Fyfield-Shayler, 69, said the teenaged bin Laden - now the most wanted man in the world - had been ‘‘immaculately’’ well-behaved.
