Trade Centre owner vows to rebuild

The owner of the World Trade Centre towers says he'll rebuild the complex after Tuesday's terrorist attacks.

Larry Silverstein, who bought the centre for £2.2bn two months ago, says he feels a moral obligation to rebuild it.

The 70-year-old property developer says whatever replaces the centre should include a memorial for the victims.

Mr Silverstein, who is missing four of his own employees, is known for embarking on ambitious and risky projects.

He says he's "absolutely staggered" at the loss of life the attacks caused.

"It would be the tragedy of tragedies not to rebuild this part of New York. It would give the terrorists the victory they seek," he told the Wall Street Journal.
