Disgruntled worker arrested after two-hour TV chase

Millions of TV viewers have watched as Californian police chased a tow-truck driven by a disgruntled council worker for two hours.

The man, said to be an employee of Long Beach Council, allegedly stole the truck from the council after an argument with his manager.

He drove around Long Beach pursued by five police cars and a KKTV news helicopter between around 5am and 7am Californian time. He was arrested after finally stopping.

Three of the truck's tyres were burst by police nail strips but the truck continued on at around 15mph trailing a shower of sparks.

Eventually the driver stopped when the truck caught fire. He got out of the truck, gave himself up to police and was arrested.
