Palestinian official killed in Gaza strip
A senior Palestinian intelligence official has been killed in a car blast in the Middle East.
Tayser Khattab, 52, was driving towards his office at Palestinian intelligence headquarters in the north of Gaza City when his car exploded.
He was rushed to hospital but died soon after. His bodyguard is believed to be seriously wounded.
Khattab was a senior officer for Palestinian intelligence chief Amin al-Hindi and a member of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement.
It is believed an explosive device was planted in the car and detonated by a wireless signal or remote control.
Officials believe Israelis were responsible for what they call Khattab’s "assassination".
The Israeli army refused to comment.
