NATO has authorised the deployment of 3,500 soldiers to Macedonia to participate in the disarming of the ethnic Albanian National Liberation Army.

NATO has authorised the deployment of 3,500 soldiers to Macedonia to participate in the disarming of the ethnic Albanian National Liberation Army.

An advance team from NATO has been in the former Yugoslav republic since last week to assess whether it is safe for Western troops to enter the region.
