Chris Evans has lost a third of his fortune

Chris Evans has reportedly lost a third of his £80m fortune during the past year.

The presenter has slipped down Broadcast magazine's rich list because of the fall in value of his shares in the Scottish Media Group.

Evans sold his Ginger Group to the SMG last year.

He is now worth an estimated £52m, reports said.

The richest person in the Broadcast list of top earners in the broadcasting industry is Sir Peter Michael, chairman of Classic FM, who is worth £185m.
