Anti-white mobs rampage in Zimbabwe
White farmers in northern Zimbabwe have evacuated families from their homes after several farms were attacked and looted by rampaging black mobs yesterday.
Officials from the Commercial Farmers Union said 25 farms were trashed in a week of violence orchestrated by pro-Government militias.
Around 100 farms were evacuated by yesterday in the areas near the Chinhoyi corn and tobacco district.
Thousands of white-owned farms have been seized in Zimbabwe in the past few years as part of President Robert Mugabe's controversial programme to take land from the descendants of British colonialists and return it to the native black population.
