Spanish police chief vows to protect tourists
The chief of Spain's national police has vowed to step up anti-terrorist measures to protect tourists on the Costa del Sol.
Juan Cotino said the resorts along Spain's Mediterranean coast are still safe, but he pledged to step up police operations to quell fears of attacks by the Basque separatists.
Last week, ETA planted a car bomb at Malaga Airport, the gateway to the Costa del Sol, which was defused just 15 minutes before it was due to detonate.
