Woman sues driver over kissing rights

A Chinese woman is seeking compensation after a car accident left her unable to kiss properly.

The woman, identified only as Ms Tao, claims her ability to kiss has been severely hindered since the crash left her with two broken front teeth and cut lips.

The lawsuit accuses the driver of depriving the woman of her rights to her "body, health, kissing and property".

She hopes the court in the town Sichuan town of Guanghan will award her 39,000 Chinese Yuan Renminbi (about £3,300) damages.

The woman also suffers from short-term memory loss and has not been able to eat properly since the accident on June 1.

legal experts as saying China's legal system does not cover "kissing rights" but her case could fall under compensation regulations based on personal damages.

A court hearing is set for August 3 in Guangha.
