Hain accuses police of overreacting at G8 summit

British Minister for Energy and Competitiveness in Europe, Peter Hain, has accused the Italian police of overreacting in their handling of demonstrators at the G8 summit.

Mr Hain said it was impossible to defend the actions of the police in shooting dead a protester in Genoa.
