Portillo loses out in Tory vote

Michael Portillo has been eliminated from the British Conservative Party's leadership race after failing to secure enough support to progress to the final round of voting.

Conservative MPs chose Kenneth Clarke and Ian Duncan-Smith as the two candidates to contest the leadership following William Hague's ignominious resignation after the recent general election.
