Police arrest four in hunt for Damilola's killer

Detectives investigating the murder of schoolboy Damilola Taylor today arrested four youths.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service detectives investigating the murder of Damilola Taylor arrested four juveniles in London this morning.

"The four have been taken into custody at various south London police stations in connection with this case."

Police took the teenagers into custody following fresh appeals for help in finding the killers on the six month anniversary of his death.

Officers leafleted key sites in Peckham, south east London, in the hope that vital witnesses to the attack might still come forward.

The 10-year-old bled to death in a block of flats on the North Peckham Estate after being stabbed in the leg by a gang of teenagers.
