Media shy supermodel

Supermodel Christy Turlington doesn’t want her wedding to actor-director Ed Burns this autumn to be a media spectacle.

‘‘You won’t see pictures in Hello,’’ she said. ‘‘I want it to be a pure and perfect experience.’’

Turlington says she and Burns, 33, are both ready to settle down and start a family. She thinks about having children ‘‘all the time now,’’ and would like to have four.

Turlington says if she has a daughter, she won’t encourage her to follow in her footsteps down the runway.

‘‘I wouldn’t encourage my child to work in an industry that focuses on superficial attributes, given all the information out there today about how delicate the age from 12 to 18 is.’’
